Frequently Asked Questions
Plain-English answers about asset-backed private credit for Australian business borrowers — security, documents, timing, suitability and next steps.
What is private credit and how does it differ from a bank loan?
Private credit is asset-backed finance provided by non-bank capital. It is typically secured against real property and assessed on the asset and exit strategy, which can suit borrowers whose income, structure or timing does not fit standard bank serviceability models.
What security is required?
Funding is secured by a registered mortgage or caveat over real property — usually commercial, industrial, retail or residential. The security position (first or second mortgage) and loan-to-value ratio depend on the asset, the transaction and your exit strategy.
What documents will I need to provide?
Typically a current property valuation, certificate of title, details of any existing finance, and information supporting your exit strategy. Development and construction facilities may also require a feasibility study, planning approvals and builder quotes. We confirm the exact list after reviewing your enquiry.
How quickly can funding be arranged?
Timing depends on the asset, the security structure and how complete your documentation is. Private credit can often be arranged more quickly than conventional bank finance, but we provide an indicative timeframe only after reviewing your situation. We do not guarantee a settlement time.
Is this suitable for self-employed borrowers or complex structures?
These solutions may suit business owners, company directors, property investors and self-employed borrowers whose circumstances make standard bank finance difficult — for example, complex ownership structures, tax-effective income, or cross-border assets.
